Westbury Stallions Post Winning Double

Westbury Stud stallions posted wins on the home and away fronts yesterday with Postponed's impressive son Moveovr outstanding at Riccarton and Captain Rio four-year-old Certain Prince triumphant at Kranji. The former blitzed his 1200 metre opposition in his return to racing after a nine-month break.

Trained by Peter and Dawn Williams, Moveovr stamped himself as a rising star last season when he was unbeaten in his first four starts culminating in victory in the Listed Ray Coupland Stakes at Ashburton. He subsequently raced creditably in top company, including a strong effort at Awapuni to finish a close fifth behind Il Quello Veloce in the Gr 3 Higgins Challenge Stakes at Awapuni.

Moveovr, who was the 2007 South Island Sale topper at $70,000, is out of winning O'Reilly mare La Banca who is a blood sister to Gr 1 South Australian Oaks winner Heavenly Body. A feature name in Moveovr's pedigree is the former NZ Horse of the Year and NZ Derby and 2000 Guineas winner Uncle Remus.

Certain Prince won his second race from just a handful of starts in Singapore when he was too good over 1400 metres for Australian rider John Powell. Trained by Don Baertschiger, he is from the family of Gr 2 Grand Prix Stakes winner Finezza Belle and was purchased by prominent Malaysian-based owner Jerry Sung for $80,000 at the 2007 Ready to Run Sale at Karaka.
