Divine Effort From High PriestWednesday, Jan 6, 2010
High Priest never gave his rivals a look in at Taupo where he cruised to a clear-cut sprint win yesterday. The lightly-raced six-year-old bounced straight to the front and dashed clear on the turn to run his rivals ragged by four lengths over 1100 metres.
By former Westbury Stud stallion Elnadim, he was sold for $23,000 by the Karaka farm in its Select Sale draft to Karaka in 2005. He is out of the Crested Wave mare Spraypaint, who has a perfect record at stud of seven winning foals, including the Group-performed Deautche Express.
Now trained by prominent Cambridge harness racing identity Todd Mitchell, High Priest had placed in four of his previous six starts and his Taupo success furthered his career record to four wins and seven minor place finishes from 18 appearances. << Back
