The Listed  $45,000 Westbury Classic F&M 1400m is run tomorrow at Ellerslie as part of undercard of NZ Derby Day and once again has drawn a very even field of fillies and mares.

At present the John Sargent trained Ruud Van Slaats is very much a loose favourite with the Tab bookmakers and is followed closely by Nadege and Scarlet Vanhara in the second and third lines.

Ruud Van Slaats was disappointing in both the Railway and the Telegraph but hinted to a return to the winner's circle with a game fourth last start in the $200,000 Gr.1 Waikato Draught Sprint 1400m.

While the Westbury Classic doesn't have the likes of Lord Tavistock or Mufhasa, Ruud Van Slaat's won't get the race handed too her.

Nadege has hit form since relocating to the Scott Lucock stable and the inform Mark Du Plessis takes the reins again tomorrow.

The Giant's Causeway mare will be looking for her third win in succession and comes into the event on the back of a victory in the Listed Wairarapa Thoroughbred Breeders Stakes F&M 1600m.

The Masey Benjamin bred and Elias and Daniel Nakhle owned 2009 Gr.2 Concorde winner Irish Colleen is another with claims.

The Stephen McKee trained mare has only raced twice since her Group race success and has shown a liking for the Ellerslie course in the past with three wins and three placing's from nine starts.
